There’s no denying it that the pharmaceutical business has achieved greater heights for the past few years. There are a lot of reasons why the industry of medicine production has increased but the bottom-line is their success has also opened new doors of opportunities to people seeking employment. Because of the increasing demand for medicine and patient care, the role of a licensed pharmacist has widened which helped pharmacy technicians be recognized.  And now that pharmacy tech’s are playing a big role in the world of healthcare it also helped improved and increase one’s pharmacy technician salary.

There may be a lot of career opportunities for this kind of profession but there’s no better way to accompany your skills, work experience and knowledge in the field other than earning your CPhT title. As a pharmacy tech you shouldn’t under estimate the power of the national certification exam administered by the PTCB. This test may not be mandatory as of yet but that doesn’t mean that it is less valuable or not important in your career. The truth is, despite the certification exam not being a pre-requisite of employment as a pharmacy technician majority of the employers prefer those who were able to pass the certification. It may sound weird that even though being a certified pharmacy tech is given high regards when it comes to working in a pharmacy or hospital it still remain as optional. Until now the pharmacy technician certification exam remains voluntary inspite of the complex role one must play in the healthcare field.

It’s pretty obvious that for someone who wants to increase his pharmacy technician salary he must earn a good work experience and widen his scope of knowledge. Other than skills, knowledge and certification you also must b provide a good working history. Let’s face it, skills and knowledge can be acquired but a problem attitude and a negative feedback from previous employers will be a challenge. Rookies on this field must always remember that nothing beats a compliment from your colleagues and boss. A perfect attendance and a clean record is like a trophy you can brag and be proud of owning. It’s also a great tool to ask for a pharmacy technician salary raise. Who wouldn’t reward an employee who shows up at work on-time every time? Who wouldn’t hire an applicant who doesn’t have a single absence, late or incident report from previous employers? Who would decline an applicant with good people skills and knows how to break a bad news in a nice way? You know the answer to all those questions is “no one”.

So if you want to be in this type of career don’t just get busy acquiring all the skills and knowledge. Take time to prioritize other things that matters because despite of all the requirements for this career it also takes an extra mile to have a good and pleasing personality.
